Election 9th July 2026

Campaign Priorities

Quite simply, things must change

Connah’s Quay is a strong, proud community — but like many towns, it is facing pressures that can’t be ignored. From environmental neglect to rising demands on local services, residents deserve clear action, proper investment, and more active councillors who are willing to stand up and deal with problems head-on.

These are the key priorities I will focus on if elected:

🟢 Cleaner Streets & a Better Environment

One of the most consistent concerns raised by residents is the state of our local environment. Overgrown weeds, littered streets, and fly-tipping are not just visual issues — they affect pride in our community and how safe and cared-for our neighbourhoods feel.

I will:

  • Push for faster, more consistent action on fly-tipping
  • Challenge the decline in basic street maintenance such as weed control and litter clearance
  • Work with relevant services and community groups to improve the upkeep of public spaces
  • Encourage a more proactive approach rather than reactive clean-ups after complaints

Clean, well-maintained streets should be the standard — not the exception.

🟡 Safer Communities

Everyone deserves to feel safe where they live, walk, and socialise. While many areas remain safe and strong, there is growing concern about anti-social behaviour and a lack of visible deterrence in key areas.

I will:

  • Support stronger action on anti-social behaviour where it is affecting residents’ quality of life
  • Work with police, PCSOs, and local services to improve visibility and responsiveness
  • Push for earlier intervention to stop problems escalating
  • Ensure residents’ concerns are taken seriously and followed up

Safety is not just about enforcement — it’s about prevention, presence, and listening to the community.

🔵 Housing, Development & Community Balance

Many residents are increasingly concerned about the scale and nature of development in and around Connah’s Quay, particularly where it affects the character and balance of established communities.

I will:

  • Oppose inappropriate overdevelopment where it places strain on local infrastructure
  • Challenge the unchecked growth of HMOs where they are not suitable for the area
  • Push for proper planning decisions that reflect community needs
  • Ensure local voices are properly considered in planning decisions

Growth should be balanced, planned, and in the interests of the people who already live here.

🔴 Protecting Local Services

At a time when council tax continues to rise, residents are understandably frustrated when local services feel under pressure or reduced.

I will:

  • Stand against unnecessary cuts to vital community services such as libraries and local hubs
  • Demand greater transparency on how decisions are made and funded
  • Push for fair investment in local provision across Connah’s Quay
  • Challenge the gap between rising costs and visible local return

Residents should be able to see and feel the benefit of what they pay.

⚫ Respect for Our Town & Local Regeneration

Across parts of the town, there are visible signs of neglect — including derelict or poorly maintained buildings that drag down surrounding areas.

I will:

  • Push for action on derelict and neglected buildings
  • Encourage regeneration and reuse where possible
  • Hold decision-makers accountable for long-term inaction
  • Support initiatives that improve pride in the town centre and key gateways

Connah’s Quay deserves investment, care, and a long-term vision — not decline and delay.

In Summary

I have attended the local Connah's Quay Town Council meetings every month for the past two years as a member of the public. These priorities are based on what residents are already saying and experiencing day to day. My focus will always be simple: listen, act, and deliver practical improvements that make a real difference to everyday life in Connah’s Quay. All I need is your vote. Your choice. Your voice. Your power. Make it count.
